Please kindly assist with The Improvising and Jazz Musician Career Path Research Project. We are Japanese university researchers seeking replies from professional and semi-professional musicians globally. Currently we have responses from 1003 musicians from 38 countries, 19% of whom are women, thus we urge more women to contribute.
The research investigates why some begin careers as improvising musicians
and jazz musicians. This examines early musical education and experience,
and the occupations of parents, spouses and friends. The occupation and
education questions help locate answers within existing research on careers,
culture and the arts.

Sanni, I don't know if you remember me but I took lessons from you at slope music and you helped me with a couple of songs, Why Can't I forget You?, and What Do You Have In Mind?. I also startecd vocal lessons with you there but I had to stop when my exwife died. I'm writing now to see if you might be in New York in the future because I could use your help working up a couple of vocal performances.

Kaunis! As an American with 100% Finn heritage...and Finnish as my first language, I just found you today. I am looking at web sites to purchase a birthday gift kantele for our son, Brian Michael Flanagan (actors union) living in Brooklyn, wkg in Manhatten, aspiring actor...a graduate of MN State U, Mankato...theater major, vocal music minor. His age Nov. 24, 2007 will be 29!

There was no Finnish War Veterans dinner dance this Fall, but I played the Lomala Christmas party last Saturday night. It's good to hear that you are back in the States.
